Ingredients :
4 cups peaches (fresh, canned, or frozen; if canned, drain well)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional, for extra warmth)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method :
Warm the Oven: Set the oven temperature to 375°F, or 190°C.
Prepare the Peaches: Peel and cut fresh peaches into slices. Add 4 cups of peaches to a 9×9-inch baking dish.
Mix the Batter: In a medium bowl, combine flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (optional). Stir just till mixed after adding the milk and vanilla essence. The batter should be slightly lumpy-avoid overmixing.
Build the Cobbler: Pour melted butter over the peaches in the baking dish. Next, evenly spread the batter over the butter and peaches without stirring. The batter will rise during baking to cover the peaches.
Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.
Serve: Allow the cobbler to cool for 5–10 minutes.
