meatballs

Yes, you can!
When it comes to baking, roasting or cooking, there are a million ways you can prepare something. In the frying pan, in the regular pan, in the oven, on the barbecue and so on. We often make meatballs in a pan, but you can also take a different approach: make them in an egg box.

Do it the easy way!

In an egg box
We had to look at this twice. Baking meatballs in an egg box?! You have to wonder how effective this method is. Yet it works better than expected and you can bake the tastiest meatballs this way, delicious with stew or with the sauce for your favorite spaghetti.

Basic ingredients
To start with, a good base is a must. To get meatballs the way grandma makes them, just choose ground beef and season it with the right herbs. An extra tip: add a teaspoon of sour cream to the minced meat your meatballs will become much creamier and smoother.

Dosing
Continue to the next step: measure uniform meatballs. So how much minced meat is the perfect amount to make the perfect meatball? Very simple use an ice cream scoop. Doing this will help you form the correct size for the meatballs.

Egg box
Finally: the egg box. If all goes well, the meatballs should fit perfectly into the cavities of an empty egg box. First, make sure the egg box is clean before you put the minced meat in it. Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Then place the egg box on the middle oven rack. Bake the meatballs in the egg box for 20 minutes. The carton of the egg box will absorb all the excess fat during the baking, so your meatballs will taste delicious. Bon appétit!
